Artistic Statement
In my artistic approach, I delve into the realm of dance as an improvisational performer, drawing inspiration from theatrical elements. My movement emerges from a deep kinesthetic exploration, embracing the authenticity of non-stylized technique dance with a somatic foundation. I seamlessly integrate various creative expressions, incorporating sound, drawing, and other interdisciplinary elements. With a background in dance movement therapy, my artistic focus is rooted in therapeutic healing, fostering transformative personal and collective processes.
I am deeply committed to the social context of dance, seeking to extend its reach beyond professional dancers and into diverse communities. Through my teaching and artistic practice, I strive to make dance more accessible, fostering inclusivity and engaging with individuals who may not identify as traditional dancers. My work emphasizes the body as a site of resilience, healing, and connection.
Furthermore, I am intrigued by the dynamic relationship between performer and audience. I explore ways to cultivate a unique, interactive exchange, inviting the audience to play an active role as witnesses in my art. By doing so, I aim to transcend traditional spectatorship, creating immersive experiences where presence and participation become essential elements, not of a performance, but of a ritual.
